Easter is the most important feast for Catholics. On Easter Sunday we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus, when he died for us on the cross and went to heaven. Jesus was tortured and he really suffered but still, his love was so big for us that he died because he truly loved us. In Easter we eat 'Figolli' a traditional Maltese sweet and chocolate Easter eggs in Malta. We should have fun and celebrate but we should still remember Jesus's huge love and affection for everyone!St.Joseph 2 alpha news!

It`s Carnival time!
Carnival!

.jpg)
It`s the time where all the children have fun and dress up in a silly costume. The most common costumes are clowns, princesses, fairies, Chinese people, super heroes, doctors, babies and much more! In Malta we eat the 'Prinjolata' a traditional sweet and 'Perlini' nuts covered in coloured icing. We also celebrate carnival by watching parades of paper statues called a 'Karru'. There are also many carnival parties in Malta especially in 2 ALPHA!!! At school we have a carnival party with lots of food; the best part is the costume catwalk competition. Whoever has the best costume wins the competition and receives amazing prizes!

Exams
Exams have started!
Unfortunately exams have started. First of all I don`t think anyone personally likes exams, at least I don`t. They`ve started yesterday. Yesterday on the 26th January we had a Maths and English Literature exam. Today we had French and Home Economics. At least tomorrow we have a study day so we can study for the following exams. Exams are very frustrating and annoying but you should never be scared. Think of it as a game, just a written game there will be tricky and simpler questions. Life throws sand on you but the only way is to get rid of it is too shake it off. If you think of and exam as a game you`ll be more calm and confident. Anyway it`s just a test to see how your`e catching on. Don`t worry your`e of you`ve studied you`d be fine, your`e not the only one doing exams!

Christmas Spirit
Happy Christmas!
Finally Christmas is here! Year after year, we wait for this special time and season to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas! Everybody gets excited about the gifts they might receive but the true meaning is that of celebrating the birth of baby Jesus. It might be hard to always keep Him in our heart but all of us should try and make a little effort this year. Don`t get me wrong we should all still have fun, decorating the Christmas tree, receiving presents, Christmas caroling, and so on. It is still good to do these things but we should not forget that Jesus is always with us and wants all the best for us. We can also try to make someone smile because everyone should be happy in this season, even those who might not treasure Christmas in their heart. We should try giving more than receiving many gifts and not giving any. By 'give' I don`t mean presents exactly but to make someone happy, smile, try to help more, doing the right things and many more. I would like to tell you all happy Christmas and a happy New Year!

Sing along with the song!
It`s time to shine!
Today each class was meant to sing their jingle or act out their own creative play. Our Head teacher picked out the name of each class randomly. Our class was one of the very best classes. We sang 'Christmas Time' our very own original song; a parody of Gangnam Style which turned out to be great, and all classes loved it! It was only a very short song about 5 minutes only but it was a good laugh. The other classes were all good too, especially when it was the teachers` turn to dance! It was hard work to make our song make sense but we finally got it right. Our dress-code was a simple Santa hat and dark glasses and we danced just like the video of Gangnam Style.

Class Competition
Can we really win this competition?
I know this year our class 2 alpha have a very good chance of winning this year`s Christmas competition; but do we know WE will win? I am very please with my classroom and I know that even if we won`t win we still tried and did our best. Most of my classmates helped more than I had ever expected and thanks to everyone who helped out! We did the nativity scene, soft toys, milk and cookies, Santa hats, Christmas stockings, presents, Santa Claus charts with cotton wool, reindeer stable, Christmas lights, snowflakes, paper flowers, a Christmas tree and much MUCH more! Eventually we will get more on Monday, which unfortunately is the last day before the judging which will be held after school hours. We tried our best everyone; we`ll see what happens on Monday!

Prize Day
Prize Day
This year`s concert was very successful it was about, Annie, the musical. It was about this little orphan girl who always dreamed of having parents who truly would love her not like the wicked head of the orphanage Ms.Hannigan.
A rich man Mr.Warbucks finally adopted her and Annie loved him with all her heart. Soon later Ms.Hannigan and her brother Rooster faked Annie`s birth of certificate so that they could claim 50.000 pounds as a reward from Mr.Warbucks. Mr.Warbucks did not believe them and Rooster and Ms.Hannigan got caught. Between scenes there was a lot of dancing and singing which was really fantastic! After the parents or relatives had seen the show the children who had a prize claimed it. It had a been a great night!
